Background & skills: Steve is Managing Director of Munro Consulting. He spent his early career in project and engineering management, working at a senior level within the public and private sectors.
Steve works with clients at a strategic level, carrying out top-level searches and managing major recruitment campaigns. His over-arching grasp of specialist sector recruitment needs makes him ideally placed to advise organisations in the Energy, Utilities and Transportation sectors where major capitalist investment and asset infrastructure plays an important part. He has also conducted senior searches in the Financial, Sport and Public sectors. This work has often resulted in the deployment of a cross-section of Munro Consulting’s specialist search and selection services.
Background & skills: Ken is Finance Director of Munro Consulting and has worked at senior level in recruitment since 1989. His early career was in professional services, FMCG and the manufacturing sectors which has helped him to build up a wealth of business and commercial contacts throughout the UK.
Ken particularly enjoys working on Board level assignments where change management issues are paramount. His expertise extends beyond pure recruitment to strategic HR development, organisational change and human capital planning. He also has a strong professional and personal interest in stress management and psychometric profiling and his recent work has included high level candidate assessments.
Background & skills: Charlie is the Operations Director of Munro Consulting and Manager of the company’s Edinburgh office. His experience is wide-ranging, allowing him to assist clients in a variety of industry sectors including sport, financial services, transportation/infrastructure, healthcare, FMCG and the public sector. He is also able to draw on his multi-site management experience gained during his successful military career.
Charlie has a solid background in large campaign projects and HR consultancy programmes, but his primary focus is on search and selection and helping clients to manage change. He enjoys acting as a strategic partner, building on-going relationships and tackling long-term issues.
Background & skills: David is the Business Manager for the Energy sector and manages Munro Consulting’s Aberdeen office.
Before starting his career in executive search and selection, David spent seven years developing training and competency systems for clients across the oil & gas industry. He has developed a strong track record in senior management recruitment, leveraging in-depth energy industry knowledge to identify opportunities, develop client relationships and deliver solutions to a broad and expanding customer base through the world. His sector knowledge has proved invaluable in delivering solutions for niche engineering, science and technology-related positions.
David Gourlay - Core expertise: Construction & Property; Transport, Public Sector
Background & skills: With more than ten years’ experience of recruiting in the construction industry, David heads up the Construction & Real Estate team at Munro Consulting. In response to market and client demands, he is currently working on developing this business beyond the UK into Central and Eastern Europe.
David has a strong track record in transacting senior level search assignments and leading multi-appointment projects for organisations throughout the UK and internationally
Background & skills: Donogh is an experienced executive search consultant, specialising in public sector opportunities in Scotland. After training as an accountant, he joined an international financial services organisation and then a UK Housing Association.
Donogh has now been working in the recruitment industry for more than ten years and has built up an enviable reputation for delivering creative and effective solutions to meet a wide range of human capital and recruitment challenges. At Munro Consulting he enjoys being part of a culture that believes in providing solutions that surpass clients’ expectations.
Background & skills: Nick has an MA (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh and membership of the CIPD attained from Napier University. With 9 years of recruitment experience primarily specialized in Executive Search across Scotland, UK and Europe he is able to provide strong understanding of a variety of key sectors. Areas of particular success have been in finding senior technology, operations and business development staff for Financial Services, Public Sector, Technology and Hi-tech fast growth businesses.
Nick has also worked in solution design and delivery for large recruitment and assessment campaigns as well as providing an on-site Executive Search service to customers. His key professional interest lies in providing the best and most efficient selection experience for both client and candidate and focusing on building the best “recruitment brand” for the client.
